TalkAlly ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
Voice Data: When you use voice features, your voice is transmitted to OpenAI or Azure OpenAI (depending on your configuration) for processing. We do not store your voice recordings.
Local Data: The app stores the following data locally on your device:
- Connection profile settings (API endpoints, preferences)
- Personal profile information (your name, custom greeting)
- Hands-free contacts you configure
- Session cost history
- App preferences and settings
API Keys: If you use Personal mode, your OpenAI or Azure API keys are stored securely on your device and are never transmitted to our servers.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your data is used solely to:
- Process voice commands and provide AI responses
- Enable hands-free calling and messaging
- Track your usage costs (stored locally)
- Personalize your experience with custom greetings and settings
3. Third-Party Services
TalkAlly integrates with the following third-party services:
- OpenAI: Voice and text processing. Subject to OpenAI's Privacy Policy
- Azure OpenAI: Alternative AI provider. Subject to Microsoft's Privacy Policy
- OpenWeatherMap: Weather data (location-based queries only)
If you use Business mode with an n8n orchestrator, your data is processed according to your orchestrator's configuration and policies.
4. Data Storage & Security
All personal data is stored locally on your device using secure storage mechanisms. We do not operate servers that collect or store your personal information.
Voice data is transmitted directly to your configured AI provider (OpenAI or Azure) using encrypted connections (TLS/SSL).
5. Permissions
TalkAlly requests the following permissions:
- Microphone: Required for voice input
- Contacts: Optional - to enable voice-activated calling by name
- Phone: To initiate calls via voice commands
- Internet: To communicate with AI services
6. Your Choices
You have full control over your data:
- You can delete all local data by clearing app data or uninstalling the app
- You can use the app without providing contacts access (manual number entry)
- You can switch between Personal and Business modes at any time
- You control which API provider processes your data
7. Children's Privacy
TalkAlly is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
